Plop plop, fizz fizz, oh what a relief it is.  No, I’m not going to write an Alka Seltzer advertisement today.  But, I am going to focus in on the topic of relief.  There are four ways that we can get relief from a situation:

  • The situation can go away on its own / resolve itself
  • Someone can intervene and resolve the situation
  • We can take some action and resolve the situation
  • We can accept the situation and learn to deal with it

What’s interesting is how many folks focus on the first two (going away / someone fixing it) versus the second two (taking control / dealing with the situation).

Ultimately it’s up to each one of us to decide how we’ll find relief from the pains that trouble us.  For me, I much prefer the taking control and/or dealing with the situation approach.  Relying on someone or something else to provide me relief just doesn’t make sense.

With that in mind:
